This verse reflects Ling Kwang Home’s enduring commitment to providing care with dignity, compassion, and respect to every individual entrusted to us. Over the past year, the Home has continued to strengthen its person‑centred approach, recognising that each resident is unique, with distinct needs, preferences, and life experiences.

Beyond meeting residents’ physical and nursing care needs, we place strong emphasis on meaningful engagement. Our Care Model actively involves residents and their family caregivers in understanding residents’ interests, preferences, and abilities, and encourages participation in activities such as art, craft, music, and recreational programmes. This approach promotes self‑expression, social interaction, and emotional well‑being. Having piloted the Care Model in the Female Dementia Ward and subsequently extended it to the EBL3 and GW3 wards during the year, the positive outcomes have encouraged our care teams to expand this initiative to all wards in the coming year.

Looking ahead, we anticipate the completion of our Additions & Alterations Project, which commenced in 2024. The renewed environment will further enhance our seniors’ quality of life. Upon completion, the Home’s capacity will increase to 400 beds to enable us to serve Singapore’s ageing population more effectively. In addition, our expanded day care centre has more than doubled its capacity. With effect from 1 April 2026, the centre began operating as a Senior Care Centre (SCC) providing Maintenance Day Care, Dementia Day Care, and Centre‑Based Nursing Care services.

Our staff remain central to the delivery of quality care, and the Home continues to invest in staff training and development, including skills upgrading and professional development, to support competent and compassionate service delivery. Safety also remains a key operational priority, with a strong safety‑first culture supported by robust infection‑control protocols, fall‑risk management, emergency preparedness, and risk‑management practices to ensure a safe and secure environment.

The Home remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring that care remains accessible to residents with limited means, so that financial and social circumstances do not become barriers to receiving care and living with dignity. With the strong support of our community partners, including donors and volunteers, residents are able to receive quality, compassionate care and live with purpose and comfort in our Home. I extend my sincere appreciation to our Executive Committee members, staff, volunteers, donors, and partners for their unwavering support and commitment to our mission.
