About Us
Serving with love since 1983
Ling Kwang Home for Senior Citizens (LKH) is a social service agency and a registered charity with Institution of a Public Character (IPC) status. The organisation was established in 1983 in Serangoon Gardens with the missional focus to care for the aged sick and needy.
LKH’s early beginnings can be traced to a free medical clinic set up by Ling Kwang Mission in the late 1960s. The clinic was run by volunteer medical doctors and nurses, seeing patients from the neighbouring kampongs in Cheng San, Ang Mo Kio and Yio Chu Kang.
Today, LKH has evolved to become a 350-bed nursing home run by full-time professionals providing residential nursing care, day care as well as Integrated Home and Day Care services to the elderly regardless of their race, language or religion.
At LKH, our model of care is holistic, encompassing not just meeting medical and functional needs, but also includes catering for the psychosocial, pastoral and spiritual well-being of the elderly. Our residents and clients are cared for by a multidisciplinary team that include nurses, medical doctors, allied healthcare professionals and ancillary staff.
When the current Additions & Alterations works to our facility complete in 2026, we are expected to have enlarged residential capacity to serve up to 400 residents and expanded space for a bigger day care centre for the elderly in the community.
CEO'S MESSAGE

Welcome to Ling Kwang Home!
Caring for the elderly has always been at the heart of what we do at Ling Kwang Home. Every day, we are inspired by our mission to serve vulnerable seniors from all walks of life with holistic, high-quality, and compassionate care. As we journey forward, we continue to explore better and more meaningful ways to enrich the lives of those entrusted to us.
Together with our passionate Care Team, we’ve enhanced our care model to reflect the values that bring life its deepest meaning—Joy, Autonomy, Connectedness, Security, Meaning, Identity, and Growth. These values guide how we care for each resident, seeing the seniors under our care as individuals with unique stories, preferences, and aspirations. Our nurses, therapists, medical social workers, support staff, and volunteers all work hand-in-hand to deliver care that is not only person-centred but also heartfelt.
By paying closer attention to each senior’s background and interests, we have been able to tailor our programmes more purposefully. What began as a pilot in one ward has brought such positive outcomes that we are now gradually introducing this approach across the Home. It brings me joy to see our residents more engaged, fulfilled, and enjoying an even better quality of life.
This year, I am deeply honoured to share that Ling Kwang Home received the Charity Transparency Award 2024, presented by the Charity Council. This prestigious award recognises our commitment to integrity and accountability in governance and disclosure. It is a testament to the trust our stakeholders place in us and motivates us to uphold the highest standards in everything we do.
We remain steadfast in fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Through training, education, and the practice of kaizen, our team is constantly finding ways to do better—for our residents and for one another. I would like to commend our Management and staff for embodying our H.E.A.R.T. values of Humility, Excellence, Accountability, Respect, and Transparency. It is through their dedication that Ling Kwang Home continues to be a place of care, dignity, and hope.
I am delighted to share that the Additions & Alterations (A&A) Project for the renovation of our Main Block has been progressing smoothly since its inception last year. As of now, we have successfully opened our new male dementia ward and rejuvenated numerous residents' rooms and corporate offices. You can find snapshots of these completed works in the pages of this report, along with other works that are to come.
As I reflect on our journey, I’m reminded of a beautiful verse from Colossians 3:14: “And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.” Indeed, it is love that unites everyone involved in our mission—from our residents and their families, to our staff, volunteers, donors, and supporters.
My sincere thanks to our Executive Committee Honorary Chairman, ExCo and sub-committee members—thank you for your kindness, support, voluntary service; and to all our volunteers, donors, and partners—your steadfast support strengthens and sustains us. We are deeply grateful.
Looking ahead, we remain excited and hopeful. With your continued trust and partnership, we will press on in our commitment to serve with compassion and excellence—making a meaningful difference in the lives of our seniors.
