CEO'S MESSAGE

CEO Joshua Chegne's Message
A very warm welcome to Ling Kwang Home for Senior Citizens!
Since its inception, Ling Kwang Home has emphasised the importance of serving the vulnerable elderly with love, care and respect. Guided by the Biblical Twin mottos, “Not to be ministered unto, but to minister” (Mathew 20:28) and “Blessed are the merciful” (Matthew 5:7), the founders of our Home have laid the bedrock of our value system which have impacted the ways by which our residents are being cared for.
At Ling Kwang Home, we welcome our residents with open arms and hope that they are able to settle well into their new environment. We hope to create a sanctuary for our residents to live out their golden years in a comfortable and conducive “Home Away from Home” and environment.
With our A&A Project in the making, you will soon see our facilities being upgraded. This includes the re-configuration of residents’ rooms and bathrooms for better ventilation and movement flow and the addition of a male dementia ward to meet increasing demands for this type of residential care facility. The upgrading plans will also include a new lounge for caregivers who come to visit their loved ones. Furthermore, the “Peace Room” is being planned where our residents who have departed from this life will be temporarily housed so that their caregivers have a private and safe space to say goodbye and mourn.
I am thankful that a sense of togetherness amongst staff had been cultivated during the challenging times of the current pandemic. We are where we are today because of the support from members of the public who have faithfully given their time, talents, resources and finances to contribute to Ling Kwang Home.
In closing, allow me to share this verse: Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony (Colossians 3:14). Even though we may each be playing different roles at Ling Kwang Home, we have a common purpose and that is to ensure the well-being of all our residents and clients. May we all never fail to be wrapped in love so that together, we may say in perfect harmony, that “We Love to Serve and Serve with Love”!
